Fire breathing dragons
We had so much fun making these fire breathing dragons!
We love learning and growing together and would like to share that with you here on our blog.
We hope you enjoy our class blog.
With happy smiles from Amazon Class :)

This term, Y1 have been exploring number patterns; telling number stories; exploring part, part, whole models, creating number sentences and exploring thur different composition of numbers.
We've been enjoying the Mind Challenges and loved using reasoning to explain our thinking.
We've really been using our maths minds!
Find more maths videos of the children on our school Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/stantonschool
Following our whole school assembly learning about World Mental Health Day, we explored pages from the book, 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse' by Charlie Macksey. We then talked about ways to remind others that they are wonderful and loved, just like this book does, so we decided to make mini happiness cards and distribute them to everyone in our school.
The children created some beautiful messages to support kindness and wellbeing.
A new castle has appeared in the small village of Stanton St Quintin and we have proudly named it 'Amazon Castle'!
Over the past few weeks, Amazon Class have been enjoying their topic, 'Castles, Knights and Dragons'. We've been learning about the different ideas about dragons in different parts of the world. In art, we designed our own dragon eyes and sculpted these using clay, based on the book 'The Dragn Machine' by Helen Ward.
We are so proud of the outcomes!
In Amazon Class, we've been having lots of fun learning about Motte and Bailey castles from the Medieval Times, working together to make our very own Motte and Bailey castles. The children thought carefully about how to make the motte to keep the castle safe, high up on a mound, and how to construct the high fence around the bailey. I was so impressed with their teamwork, but also the super castles constructed!
