Transitioning from Reception into Year 1 can be quite overwhelming, with a change in classroom structure and a different timetable of learning to adapt to.

Regardless of this, Year 1 are already making their mark on Amazon Class and are settling in so well. It has been a pleasure to explore daily phonics with Year 1 so far this term, and they have really impressed me this week with the progress they have made. 

Here are a few photos of the children learning the different ways to spell the sound 'ay' and achieving quite a long dictated sentence during one of their phonics sessions this week.
