Dough Disco

You may have heard your child chatting about DOUGH DISCO, and you might have been wondering what they are talking about!

This daily exercise combines the use of play dough with a series of fun hand and finger movements designed to improve and strengthen fine muscle control and coordination, which is essential for writing.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your play dough and turn the music up and give those little fingers a work-out!

Every finger has a name...

Like all good workouts we have range of moves to get those fingers moving...

The sausage - roll your play dough back and forth between your hands to create a sausage.

Pinch It - Pinch your sausage from top to bottom, then flip it over and go again.

Ball - Roll your play dough between the palms of your hands to make a ball.

Make it flat - put your play dough ball in the palm of one hand and use the other hand to flatten it.

Dance Floor - The fingers take it in turns to dance on the dance floor, or get two fingers dancing and have a dance-off!

Dough- Nut - Push Tommy Thumb through the play dough and smooth the edges to make a doughnut.

Pizza - squeeze around the whole of your play dough to make your favourite pizza!

No play dough - no problem you can make your own with things out of your cupboard:) (Recipe below).
