Uniform at Stanton

School Uniform

  • Black or grey trousers/skirt/pinafore dress

  • White shirt/blouse/polo shirt

  • School sweatshirt in royal blue or school sweat cardigan/knitted cardigan in royal blue

  • Royal blue fleece for outdoor wear (Optional)

  • Plain dark or neutral socks/tights (please send in a spare pair of socks if your child wears tights)

  • During the summer, grey tailored shorts or a school summer dress in blue & white stripe/check may be worn.

  • A sun hat is required for the summer months.

  • Navy, black or brown sensible shoes to be worn at all times. The wearing of trainers or fashion shoes is not allowed for health and safety reasons. Boots should not be worn inside, so please send indoor shoes for your child to change into. Sandals may be worn but are not encouraged as they do not provide much foot protection.

  • All children from Y1 – Y6 require a water bottle. This is in addition to the drink in lunch boxes. Children are encouraged to visit class water coolers regularly. Water bottles are also taken outside during P.E. and when working in The Khola.

  • Children starting school in the Reception class will also need a pair of wellington boots, waterproof trousers and a waterproof top with hood (which can be easily worn over their clothes) so that they can access outdoor learning in all weathers!

P.E. Kit

  • Black or dark blue shorts

  • Plain White T-Shirt

  • White, black or navy daps or trainers (for outdoor PE/games).

  • Black or dark blue track suit trousers and top (optional)

  • Dark blue or black hat or gloves (optional) may be worn in the cold weather for outdoor sports

[N.B. Studded shoes and shin pads are required for some KS2 pitch based sports clubs, such as football, hockey, lacrosse and rugby.]

All kit needs to be kept in a named P.E. bag that can be hung on the child’s peg.

Some helpful pointers are:

  • The trousers should be recognised “school-style” trousers as can be bought from many stores at a reasonable price, not, for example, flares or other fashion styles.

  • Many styles of children’s shoes, particularly girls, have large, chunky heels – these are not appropriate for safety reasons; the heel should not exceed 1.5 ins. or 3.7cm.

  • Hair accessories are requested to be blue.

  • Slip on shoes need to be secure, laces/buckles are preferable.

  • In cold weather children must have a warm coat.

  • Our guess is we have all lost at least one item of child’s clothing. If all items are named, the likelihood of return is greatly increased – sewn, ironed or simply written – you know it makes sense!

  • For additional clarification we can also send home an individual note if you or your child is not clear about any of the items referred to above.
