  • Young Voices 2024

    Published 23/01/24

This week we took we took the Stanton choir to the Birmingham Arena to take part in a Young Voices concert. We joined over 5,000 other school children to create the world's largest school choir and the result was spectacular! Our choir had been busy rehearsing the repertoire of songs for weeks, but nothing could prepare them for the moment they walked into the arena and realised the scale of the event they were about to take part in.

During the afternoon, the children saw all the professional performers rehearsing their parts and it was a fantastic opportunity for them to see a range of musical skills in action and realise the importance of practising their musical instruments until you can’t get it wrong.

In the evening, they performed to an audience which included family members. All the children sang and danced their hearts out, making it an amazing and unforgettable experience to be part of.

  • Keeping Safe

    Published 22/01/24

Today we were visited by a team of St John’s Ambulance responders, to learn all about the important and lifesaving work that they do every single day.

Each class took part in a workshop, learning how to put each other into the recovery position and what to do in the case of an emergency.

We were curious to explore the inside of an ambulance and learn about the crucial equipment on board and how it may be used.

The children asked lots of important questions and have acquired skills they may need to use in the future.
